ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF AMERICA

THE CLUB
The Antique Automobile Club of America is the country’s oldest and largest automotive historical society. A Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation, it is dedicated to the preservation, restoration and maintenance of automobiles and automotive history. Founded in Philadelphia in 1935, its membership has grown to over 50,000 members from all parts of the world. The AACA holds competitive and non-competitive events throughout the country, and an annual meeting in February in Philadelphia.

VEHICLES
Motor vehicles of all types, 25 years old and older, are eligible for competitive events and non-competitive display. In AACA events, cars are grouped as follows:

    • Pre-1930 models
    • Classic – exceptionally fine cars of specific makes, such as Duesenberg, Rolls Royce, Cord, etc, from 1930 to 1942.
    • Production – Generally, 1930 to 1985 cars
    • Specified Prestige Vehicles – examples are Jaguar Mark IV, Oldsmobile Fiesta, Rolls Royce

REGIONS AND CHAPTERS
There are several hundred regions and chapters chartered by the Antique Automobile Club in the United States and Canada. Regions and their chapter are administered in an autonomous manner and hold their own meetings, collect local dues, and conduct runs, meets and other events under their own elected officers. The Lawrence Region represents Douglas County, Kansas and sponsors the Mid-America chapter.

AACA LIBRARY AND RESEARCH CENTER
Your AACA dues automatically include membership in AACA’s Library and Research Center. Incorporated in 1981, the Center provides historical research concerning the origins of and the development of motorized vehicles of all types. The center will provide research services to members of AACA and will assist them in the restoration and preservation of their antique vehicles. The Center employs a fulltime librarian to better serve the membership.
